Juniper Unveils E120 BSR

Juniper Networks Inc. has unveiled an addition to its E-series family, the E120 Broadband Services Router (BSR).

The E120 has similar features as the E320 BSR but lets providers extend multiplay services to markets served by smaller points of presence, Juniper said. The E120 shares the same JUNOSe operating system, line cards and interface modules as the E320.

The new platform has 120gbps of capacity and supports up to 64,000 individual subscribers, the company said.

The E-series portfolio is fully integrated with the Session Resource and Control for policy management and control and delivers scale, reliability and performance to support advanced multiplay services like VoD and IPTV. The E-series helps multiplay providers to determine on a second-by-second basis which IPTV or VoD channels viewers watched.

The E120 BSR is expected to be available during the third quarter of this year.
