CP-TA Releases Interoperability, Test Documents
02/09/2007
The Communications Platforms Trade Association (CP-TA) has released its first interoperability compliance document (ICD) and test procedure manual (TPM). The ICD defines a set of interoperability requirements to build interoperable communications platforms, and the TPM defines test procedures for those requirements. The documents will allow vendors to design and deliver interoperable open specifications-based products, the CP-TA said. CP-TA said the ICD and TPM address three important areas for providers who construct AdvancedTCA platforms – thermal, manageability and data transport. Member companies will be able to conduct self-testing in the first half of the year with plans for a third-party interoperability lab to be running in the fourth quarter 2007. Products that pass third-party certification will be labeled CP-TA-certified. The ICD currently is available, and the TPM will be available Feb. 19. CP-TA also said ZTE Corp. has joined as a contributor member, bringing membership to 30 companies. Alliance Systems and American Portwell Technology have joined as adopter members. Member companies participate in the creation of interoperability test documents and will be able to promote their products meeting the requirements as CP-TA-certified. Motorola Inc., Nortel Networks Ltd. and Intel Corp. are among some of CP-TA’s members. Communications Platforms Trade Association www.cp-ta.org
