Companies Participate in MPLS Test
02/08/2007
Thirteen vendors are participating in a test event to demonstrate interoperability for advanced MPLS-based services where IP, Ethernet, ATM, and TDM services are being transported across an inter-carrier backbone. The event, being held at the MPLS World Congress 2007 in Paris through Friday, is organized by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC) with the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Lab. The multivendor test network demonstrates support of IPTV, mobile backhaul and business applications. “Previous events have shown that MPLS provides a mature, interoperable family of standards – yet MPLS still advances into new areas,” said Carsten Rossenhoevel, Managing Director of EANTC. “This time we verified inter-carrier MPLS services, where interoperability between operators and devices plays an important role.” Participants Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco Systems Inc., Foundry Networks Inc., Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Ixia, MRV Communications Inc., Redback Networks Inc., RAD Data Communications Ltd., Rohde & Schwarz SIT, Siemens, Spirent Communications, Telco Systems and ZTE Corp.
