Wi-Fi TV to Launch Personal Video Channels

Hoping to harness growing interest in social networking, Internet video site Wi-Fi TV Inc. on Monday will launch 1,000 Wi-Fi TV Personal Video Channels as part of the next generation of the company’s innovative offering.

The company said its Web site is the only place on the Internet where you can watch hundreds of TV stations, chat with others watching the same program, get breaking news for each country and category listed, and download a dialer and make free phone calls.

Use of social networking and user-generated content is growing fast as was evidenced last week when Comcast and Vodafone each teamed with top social networking sites Facebook and MySpace respectively to create new services.

And Cisco announced plans to buy Five Across a firm that makes Web site products to handle social networking.

Wi-Fi TV said its members will now be able to upload video content, profile pages and also will have a personal Wi-Fi TV page when they log on. Wi-Fi Targeted Video Advertising will also debut at the same time as part of the new Web site.

The company said it’s selling the Wi-Fi TV Stations for $25,000 apiece. They will become unique in the world of Internet TV, it said, with a combination of global delivery of 24/7 streaming content, links to a shopping cart, inclusion in multiple topic categories, and on-demand content.

Wi-Fi TV memberships are free at www.Wi-FiTV.com and include such perks as online phone calls and chat and online parties.
