Sylantro Takes Part in Korean, Swiss Ventures
02/12/2007
Sylantro Systems Corp. said its Synergy Application Feature Server has passed User Acceptance and now will be a part of Korea Telecom’s WiBro (Wireless Broadband) network, scheduled to deploy early in the second quarter of 2007. Korea Telecom (KT) will offer an integrated Microsoft hosted messaging and collaboration platform with the Sylantro Synergy Application Feature Server operated on an IMS by Samsung Electronics. KT, the largest incumbent carrier in Korea, will commercially launch the WiBro system in the Seoul area. WiBro was developed in Korea as a mobile broadband wireless technology and will provide services such as data transmission, media and communications. Sylantro also said it will help Switzerland-based Swisscom’s transition to an IMS network, planned to launch in early 2008. Sylantro’s Synergy Application Feature Server will be deployed and integrated into Swisscom’s IMS network infrastructure, providing advanced telephony services and first line replacement. Swisscom is preparing for residential VoIP services over the next year and is migrating to IMS to enable fixed and mobile services based on a converged network infrastructure.
