XO VoIP Service Reaches 100,000 Business Users

01/24/2007

XO Communications said Wednesday its XOptions Flex VoIP service now supports more than 7,500 SMBs and 100,000 business customer employees.

The company also said it will expand its suite of IP platforms by launching new VoIP and private IP networking platforms designed for larger businesses later this year.

Some of the products include managed IP PBX, MPLS IP VPN and, in a few weeks, XO plans to launch a combined VoIP-MPLS IP-VPN service.

XO also said it is exploring a fixed mobile convergence platform that would provide one device that would act as an office phone inside a business and as a mobile device outside of the office.

XOptions Flex was launched in the spring of 2005 and provides integrated VoIP services with features such as voice, Internet access and Web hosting. It also provides bandwidth allocation, VPN, E911 and an online management tool.

XO said it plans to add new capabilities to XOptions Flex such as increased bandwidth options and personal mobility features sometime this year.
