Overture Networks Receives MEF Certification

Overture Networks, a developer of converged packet access platforms, said Tuesday it has earned MEF certification for delivery of Ethernet services as defined by the Metro Ethernet Forum.

The company’s products were found to deliver Ethernet private line (EPL), Ethernet virtual private line (EVPL) and Ethernet multipoint-to-multipoint (E-LAN) services compliant with the MEF 9 and MEF 14 technical specifications.

The MEF is a nonprofit organization that is attempting to accelerate adoption of carrier-class Ethernet. Its members including telecommunications service providers, network equipment/software manufacturers, semiconductors vendors and testing organizations.
