Microsoft Appoints Business Director Within Communications Sector

Microsoft Communications Sector recently announced the appointment of Steve Zimba as business director for its group targeting network service providers.

Zimba is responsible for developing, marketing and executing the strategic direction of Microsoft solutions in wireline, wireless and cable companies.

Zimba has 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and technology industries. His prior experience includes director of strategy and business development at BellSouth, where he developed the company’s next-generation IP-based communications and entertainment. He also served as a key member of BellSouth’s managed services product group, and led the creation of a managed storage services product line. Prior to BellSouth, Zimba held senior management positions at both software and consulting services firms, where he was responsible for the creation of new products, delivery of customer solutions and management of business operations.
