RCN Taps Turin to Launch Carrier Ethernet Services

Turin Networks, a global provider of multiservice optical transport solutions for carrier, wireless and private networks, announced today that RCN Business Solutions, a transport, Internet, bulk video and voice service provider to the carrier and enterprise business communities, is deploying Turin’s Traverse Multiservice Transport Switch in key Metro areas to deliver flexible, high-bandwidth Carrier Ethernet services to business customers.

The deployed Carrier Ethernet applications include multipoint E-LAN, as well as point-to-point Ethernet Private Line services at 10mbps, 100mbps and 1,000mbps rates, with bandwidth flexibility in 1mbps increments. RCN Business Solutions now is able to accommodate an enterprise customer’s changing requirements without additional equipment or truck rolls.
