xchange, Trendsmedia Call for Best of WiMAX World Award Nominations

xchange magazine and Trendsmedia, producer of WiMAX World USA Conference & Expo, have teamed to deliver the Best of WiMAX World Awards at the upcoming event Oct. 10-12, 2006, in Boston. Nominations for the award, which recognizes leaders in the development and deployment of WiMAX technologies, are being accepted for consideration at www.xchangemag.com/wimaxaward through Sept. 9, 2006.

“We are pleased to be selected by Trendsmedia to sponsor the Best of WiMAX World Awards,” said Mike Saxby, xchange group publisher. “xchange has been following the developments in the fixed wireless space since it was founded 10 years ago. WiMAX is emerging as an increasingly important technology for the continued growth of innovative service provider delivery models. We are honored to be able to publicly acknowledge those innovative companies that are responsible for its development and deployment.”

The awards, which are open to all sponsors and exhibitors of the WiMAX World USA event, will be given in the following categories:

• Systems Design
• OSS
• Device/Peripheral/Application Software
• Chip Design – 802.16-2004
• Chip Design – 802.16e
• Industry Innovation

Final selection of winners will be made by an independent award selection committee. A special Industry Innovation Award will be voted on by attendees at the WiMAX World USA event. Winners will be announced at the WiMAX World USA event on Oct. 10, 2006.
