360networks Chooses Sonus

360networks Corp. has chosen Sonus Networks Inc. as its infrastructure provider for a new SIP-based wholesale VoIP service.

360networks will deploy a complete suite of IMS-ready Sonus solutions, including the GSX9000 Open Services Switch, the PSX Call Routing Server, the SGX Signaling Gateway, and the Sonus Insight Management System.

360networks, a regional fiber-based CLEC, will launch the wholesale service throughout the western half of the United States in the latter part of the year. It will offer broadband service providers VoIP-to-PSTN call origination and PSTN-to-VoIP termination, and an a la carte menu of services will include local telephone numbers, inbound/outbound local calling, toll termination, E911, LNP, directory listing, operator services and directory assistance. The service will be available in rate centers throughout the western half of the United States.
