Broadsmart Deploys SmartEdge Gateway

Broadsmart, a division of CLEC North American Telecom, is using Redback Networks SmartEdge Service Gateway as it expands its IP network.

Broadsmart plans to roll out new network colocation facilities in the Southeast so it can deliver IP services with QoS capabilities. The Redback gateway will handle increased subscriber capacity for advanced voice and data services among SMBs and residential customers.

The SmartEdge also will help Broadsmart provide hosted VoIP for business customers and low-cost VoIP via DSL for consumers.
