Alvarion Takes Orders for BreezeMAX PRO

Wireless broadband equipment supplier Alvarion Ltd. today announced the commercial availability of BreezeMAX PRO, a WiMAX-ready customer premise device that uses the Intel PRO/Wireless 5116 broadband interface chip.

BreezeMAX is Alvarion’s WiMAX-ready platform that uses OFDM technology for advanced non-line-of-sight functionality, allowing operators to offer broadband IP data and voice services. It is based on the IEEE 802.16-2004 standard.

Alvarion is taking orders for the BreezeMAX PRO in volume quantities for commercial deployments.
