Telcordia Names New President, CEO

OSS provider Telcordia has appointed a new president and CEO.

Daniel J. Carroll last week was named to the position; he also will serve as a member of Telcordia’s board of directors.

Most recently, Carroll was COO of the business communications services division at Lucent Technologies, where he was responsible for a $7 billion global business that provided telecommunications systems to large and small business enterprises.

Carroll, an engineer who helped develop the first VoIP switch for the Lucent division that later became Avaya Inc., spent 35 years with the AT&T, Western Electric and the Lucent family of companies.

Meanwhile, Telcordia also announced Matthew J. Desch will serve as non-executive chairman.

Affiliates of Warburg Pincus and Providence Equity Partners jointly acquired Telcordia from SAIC earlier this year.
