Netopia Introduces New Gateways for Triple-Play Services
08/03/2005
Netopia Inc., which makes broadband equipment and service delivery software, has introduced three new gateways for delivering IPTV, video, VoIP and data across VDSL networks. The gateways are part of the company’s MiAVo line and will be available to carriers and service providers later this month. They include Netopia's VGx quality-of service technology and TR-069 remote management functionality, which ensures the applications can coexist and be delivered reliably on the same network. For IP-based VDSL2 networks, Netopia has designed two devices. The first, the MiAVo VDSL2 gateway, offers a 4-port 10/100 Ethernet switch to connect Ethernet devices such as IPTV set-top boxes. The second, the MiAVo VDSL2 gateway, integrates Netopia's 3-D Reach 802.11b/g Wi-Fi technology for wireless connectivity to laptops, PCs and Wi-Fi VoIP phones. It also includes a 4-port 10/100 Ethernet switch for wired devices such as Webcams and IPTV set-top boxes. For ATM-based VDSL networks, Netopia has created the MiAVo VDSL gateway, which incorporates Netopia's 3-D Reach 802.11b/g Wi-Fi technology and a 4-port 10/100 Ethernet switch.
