Empire Deploys Pannaway Platform

Pannaway Technologies Inc., which develops converged broadband voice, video and data platforms, has signed a deal with Empire Telephone Corp., in Plattsburgh, N.Y., to deliver next-generation broadband services.

Empire Telephone, which supports 8,400 access lines, plans to deploy IP video services, high-speed data and, in early 2006, digitized voice with advanced calling features to its customer base, using Pannaway's Service Convergence Network (SCN).

The platform means Empire Telephone can provide affordable bundled broadband services, like those offered by local cable and satellite providers. Pannaway’s SCN supports SIP, which Empire says will enable it to differentiate its voice service with calling features and primary line VoIP/lifeline calling capabilities.
