CLEC Installs Lucent VoIP Products

Fonix Telecom Inc., the Atlanta-based subsidiary of telecommunications provider Fonix Corp., started delivering VoIP services to customers earlier this month thanks to Lucent Technologies.

Fonix Telecom used Lucent’s suite of VoIP products, including the Lucent Compact Switch, to complete its IP network and offer its VoIP service named Fonix Fone. Lucent Worldwide Services will provide maintenance services.

Fonix Telecom, a CLEC, continues to support traditional voice subscribers as well.
