SBC Cuts DSL Rates

SBC Communications Inc. today said it was cutting its price for high-speed Internet access by 25 percent to $14.95 a month for customers who purchase SBC Yahoo! DSL Express online under a year term.

Customers who want faster speeds of 1.5mbps to 3mbps can order SBC Yahoo! DSL Pro for $24.99 a month for 12 months if they order online, SBC announced. The service previously cost $29.99 a month.

The online offers include a $99 instant credit toward a $149 SBC Yahoo! DSL Wireless Home Networking kit, a $179 laptop home networking bundle or a $99 DSL modem.

Among phone companies, SBC is the largest broadband provider with 5.6 million connections.
