Juniper to Purchase Peribit, Redline

Juniper Networks Inc. has agreed to buy Peribit Networks Inc., which creates WAN optimization technology, and Redline Networks Inc., a developer of application front end (AFE) technology.

Juniper will use the companies’ expertise to further its work in delivering applications over IP networks, especially distributed and mobile networks.

The Peribit Networks acquisition is valued at approximately $337 million in cash, stock and assumed stock options. The Redline Networks purchase will go for approximately $132 million in cash and assumed stock options.

Juniper expects the Peribit Networks deal to close in the third quarter, while the Redline Networks acquisition should close in the second quarter.
