Switch and Data Acquires LayerOne

Neutral interconnection and colocation provider Switch and Data has completed its acquisition of Dallas-based LayerOne, a privately held company that operates three data centers in Chicago, Dallas and Miami as well as network interconnection hubs in Los Angeles and New York.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition expands Switch and Data’s presence to 35 sites in 23 North American markets and more than 800 customers. Switch and Data says LayerOne’s capabilities will help it extend its VoIP services, peering fabric and managed infrastructure.
