FCC Commissioner Sworn in for New Term
12/09/2004
FCC Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein this week was sworn in for a new term at the regulatory agency. His term expires June 30, 2008. “A full term opens new opportunities to promote the interests of the American public in having access to the best possible communications systems in the world,” Adelstein said after being sworn in at the U.S. Capitol by his former boss, outgoing Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.). For seven years, Adelstein was a senior legislative aide to Daschle, where he advised the senator on telecommunications, financial services, transportation and other issues. Daschle is leaving Congress after his defeat in the Nov. 2 election by Republican John Thune.
