Motorola Acquiring MeshNetworks

Motorola has agreed to acquire MeshNetworks Inc., a privately held developer of mobile mesh networking and position location technologies that allow users to deploy IP-based wireless broadband networks.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2004.

Motorola says buying MeshNetworks will allow it to provide customers more ways to build scalable broadband wireless networks that deliver data, video, location and VoIP services.
