Shaw Adds Mobile Internet Access

In another move showing cable companies are getting more serious about reaching business customers, Shaw Communications Inc. has tapped RemotePipes Inc. to provide worldwide mobile Internet services for Shaw Internet customers throughout Western Canada.

This new communications offering from Shaw, called TollFreeISP, enables business travelers, infrequent users of the Internet, and rural users to access the Internet via wireless or wireline connectivity throughout Canada and the United States, as well as over 100 countries worldwide.

"With our new Internet access solution, we're putting another valuable tool at the fingertips of our customers," says Peter Bissonnette, president of Shaw Communications Inc. "The added dimension of having a traveling portal that allows Shaw customers to connect their laptop computers to the Internet, their corporate networks and e-mail is complementary to our existing Webmail services."

The new mobile Internet services are available immediately for all existing Shaw Internet customers.
