Michael Capellas, Chairman and CEO of the bankrupt phone giant WorldCom Inc., said Tuesday the company would file a reorganization plan this spring and focus on rolling out new products and services to businesses and consumers in the next 100 days.

Capellas, who made the announcement in remarks to WorldCom’s employees, did not describe those specific new products and services.

However, he says the company will focus on its product, The WorldCom Connection, based on the union of voice and data networks tailored for businesses.

WorldCom also hopes to add 1 million new sales to The Neighborhood, MCI’s fast-growing local and long-distance residential calling plan, and to add 2.5 million consumer long-distance sales over the next 100 days, Capellas says.

WorldCom also announced a new leadership structure. These executive will report to Capellas: Cindy K. Andreotti, President, Business Markets; Seth Blumenfeld, President, WorldCom International; Fred Briggs, President, Operations and Technology; Daniel Casaccia, Executive Vice President, Human Resources; Jonathan Crane, Executive Vice President, Strategy and Marketing; Victoria Harker, Acting Chief Financial Officer; Wayne Huyard, President, MCI Mass Markets; Michael Salsbury, Executive Vice President and General Counsel and Grace Chen Trent, Chief of Staff.
