Cisco Completes PostPath Acquisition

Cisco (CSCO) announced this week it’s completed its purchase of Postpath, Inc. PostPath will work with Cisco to enhance the existing e-mail and calendaring capabilities of Cisco’s WebEx Connect collaboration platform.

Cisco will now be able to extend the e-mail and calendar functionality of its software-as-a-service (SaaS)-based platform, which includes instant messaging, voice, video, data, document management and Web 2.0 applications. That will allow customers to use collaboration to accelerate processes within and between businesses.

With the close of the transaction, PostPath becomes part of the Cisco Collaboration Software Group (CSG). CSG is part of the recently established Software Group, consisting of Cisco's major software businesses, including the Cisco IOS network operating system, network and service management, Unified Communications solutions, policy management, and SaaS offerings.
