Tata, BT Sign International Voice Deal

Tata Communications Ltd. will become the international voice provider for British Telecom Group plc.

In return, BT will become Tata’s main distribution channel for its international direct dial (IDD) traffic into the United Kingdom, expanding into other markets across Europe as the relationship matures.

“Tata Communications is a leader in the international wholesale voice business, making them a perfect partner to help us achieve additional economies of scale to those of our own,” said Oscar Ruiz, vice president of Global Telecom Markets for BT Global Services, in a statement. “We look forward to maximizing the opportunities this relationship presents to both organizations as we expand our portfolio of wholesale products and services and ultimately strive to become even more competitive with our pricing.”
