8x8 Launches Packet8 Softalk Office Business-Class PBX Softphone

8x8 Inc. recently announced the availability of Packet8 Softalk Office, a PC-based softphone for use with the Packet8 Virtual Office hosted PBX phone service for business.

Softalk Office gives Packet8 Virtual Office subscribers access to a full-featured Virtual Office softphone extension directly from a personal computer without the need for a separate Virtual Office telephone. A graphic keypad functions as the main user interface. It also enables videoconferencing between as many as six participants simultaneously.

Softalk Office users have access to the same corporate-class PBX calling features offered with the Packet8 Virtual Office service, which include extension dialing, access from an auto attendant, ability to create a conference bridge, virtual and toll-free numbers, E911 support, call transfer, do not disturb, call ignore, business-class voice mail, one-number follow me/find me, message waiting indicator, caller ID with name, call-waiting caller ID, call record, touch tones, call forwarding, multicaller audio and video conferencing and call timer.

Packet8 Softalk Office is available for $9.99 per month and includes 200 minutes of calling in the United States and Canada, and 3.5 cents per minute thereafter. International calls are billed separately at current Packet8 International rates.
