Cablevision Offers $200 Gift Card for New Subs

Like a boxer who’s just taken a punch in the gut, Cablevision has countered with a jab of its own. The cable operator is offering new triple-play customers – as well as new double-play phone-and-Internet customers – a $200 American Express gift card through the end of the month.

In April, Verizon fired up a promotion that gave new FiOS triple play customers $150 cash back if they locked in for two years. That promo expires Saturday.

Cablevision’s offer is featured on its Web site. While there, customers can sign up for Optimum Online and Optimum Voice for $29.95 per month each for 12 months.

To keep people from signing up and cancelling, customers must maintain Optimum Online and Optimum Voice service for four months.
