Optimum VP Joins MEF Board
09/06/2007
Optimum Lightpath, said Wednesday that Kevin Curran, the company’s senior vice president of marketing, has been elected to the Metro Ethernet Forum’s (MEF) board of directors.
Curran is the first representative of an MSO to be elected to the MEF board of directors, the company said. Optimum Lightpath was one of the first cable MSOs to become an MEF member and has been an active member since 2004.
MEF U.S. cable operator members represent more than 75 percent of the cable footprint in the U.S.
“As an executive of one of the leading MSOs in the nation, Mr. Curran’s expertise and commitment to furthering the adoption of Carrier Class Ethernet make him a valuable new member to our board of directors,” said Nan Chen, president of the Metro Ethernet Forum. “With the ability to meet the extreme demands for speed, capacity, reliability and security, Optimum Lightpath has embraced innovation and advanced the MEF's mission to drive Carrier Ethernet adoption worldwide.”
In June, Optimum Lightpath was awarded the MEF’s Carrier Ethernet Regional Service Provider of the Year award.
