No Free Lunch, or Ringtone Either: Verizon to Pay $1.5M

That sound you hear isn’t so much a free ringtone as Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ) sighing.

The nation’s largest wireless provider has agreed to pay $1.5 million in settlement money for third-party charges that appeared on customers’ bills. The charges resulted from ringtone, wallpaper and other downloads that consumers didn’t realize would cost them.

Yet another reason to actually read the fine print, people.
