TELUS Taps SpinVox for Visual Voice Mail
05/05/2009
Canadian operator TELUS Mobility is using the SpinVox voice-to-text conversion engine to offer consumers the TELUS Visual Voice Mail as a standard feature in its $25 and $45 Package rate plans. Voice messages are converted to text and delivered as SMS or e-mail to the subscriber’s mobile phone – with the ability to store, organize and share messages. Messages delivered via e-mail also provide users with an option to listen to the message via embedded .wav file. TELUS first made Visual Voice Mail available to customers as an la carte service for $7.95 per month last year. “We have seen tremendous growth for the SpinVox service in Canada,” said Christina Domecq, SpinVox co-founder and CEO, in a statement. “That we continue to expand our carrier relationships in the region is a testament to the power of the SpinVox service – a proven voice to content service that drives value for our partners – and meets the anywhere, anytime communication needs of Canada’s wireless subscribers coast-to-coast.”
