Occam Networks Inc. (Booth 915) significantly is increasing its commitment to the DSL Forum, based on the association’s continued work to expand the BroadbandSuite to better enable end-to-end access-agnostic service delivery, manageability and efficiency as well as other forum activities.
“We are excited by the progress of the BroadbandSuite as well as the quality and technical direction of the forum’s technical reports and white papers,” said Bob Howard-Anderson, president and CEO of Occam Networks. “Occam is committed to promoting the DSL Forum’s works and supporting the new work under way. The Forum’s work continues to align with Occam’s vision of enabling high-performance next-generation services with simplicity.”
Occam’s increasing support for the DSL Forum includes the appointment of Dov Zimring, Occam’s director of strategic technology and solutions and currently a DSL Forum ambassador, to chair of the DSL Forum’s Ambassador Committee.
Occam’s IP-based and Ethernet-based broadband loop carrier products and services leverage many of the DSL Forum’s Technical Reports to better enable service providers to deploy IPTV and other emerging applications in the most efficient possible way. The DSL Forum consistently has brought the industry thought leaders together in identifying optimal architectures, test methodologies, home networking capabilities and network management techniques to solve emerging service provider business challenges. The DSL Forum’s TR-101, Migration to Ethernet-Based DSL Aggregation, is a cornerstone in the architecture of tripleplay networks deployed around the world. The BroadbandHome component of the DSL Forum’s BroadbandSuite, built on TR-069, has seen worldwide adoption and interest from many other forums’ and standards organizations.
