Omnitron Debuts New Multiplexers, Network Interface Devices

10/07/2008

Omnitron Systems Technology Inc. debuted its new CWDM multiplexers and optical add+drop multiplexer (OADM) products. The CWDM multiplexers are the newest addition to the MEF-certified compliant iConverter product family.

The iConverter CWDM MUX and OADM modules are available in expandable

four-channel and eight-channel configurations. They provide some of the highest port densities available and can be installed in new or existing networks with other iConverter system components, the company said.

The new iConverter GM2 network interface devices (NID) enable Carrier Ethernet services with MEF 9 and MEF 14-certified compliant demarcation at the customer premises. GM2 NIDs support IEEE 802.3ah Link OAM and 802.3ag Service OAM. They feature SFP fiber transceivers that support standard 100BASE-Fx, 1000BASE-X or CWDM wavelengths.

GM2 NID models include two-port or three-port configurations with any combination of UTP RJ-45 and SFPs. They are available as standalone and plug-in modules that can be installed in a variety of compact chassis with multiport configurations.

Key features include granular bandwidth controls for tiered service offerings, VLAN with Q-in-Q to provide E-Line and E-LAN services, QoS, and temperature ranges from -40 degrees to 75 degrees Celsius.
